The little creature's life- Betta Fish

(20-9-2013) - Male betta, RIP.
An sms From My dad telling me, It died.  It all started when….

My male betta (lets name it Merlin) start flirting wildly with my female fishes, and you can tell, he is ready for the next phrase.

But love life come in pair, the third party will have to WAIT or LEAVE. And so, I decided to pick the purple one to breed with Merlin.
Female betta- white frame surrounding her body.
To my horror, it turned out that the grennish blue female betta was in Merlin’s tank.
Instead of the purple one, the greenish blue female betta just could'nt control herself.
Fated, you just can’t push love.
It was all just some tank washing process and the male betta is transferred temporary for washing process.(2 days once)

But serve her right, jump lah some more. Jump right into trouble.

Well, Betta breeding process is long and tiring. You needa keep changing 30% water every day.
The male will make bubble nest and then…

1.Male betta will put on a huge fight to get her.
During that time, female usually got injured.

2.Male will squeeze eggs out from the female body. Do not get too near the aquarium as you might frighten the fishes and infanticide occur, causing them to eat up their own offspring.
You can see as your female fish suddenly freeze for a moment before she start moving again.

Male will collect the eggs. If the female are kind enough, like mine, they will pick their offspring together. It goes again and again for 15 minutes or more.

3. Before you knew it, the male will chase the female away. So, be sure to pick her up before she got punch like a punching bag. The male will stay with the baby. This is as if the female told him, BE A MAN!

And he did.
Taking care of the baby till they grow big.
Picking up baby that falls down.

But the caring part is the hardest.
After 5 or 6 days, remove the male from the baby fry and it is now YOUR responsible to take care of them.

Giving them food (microworms, baby brine shrimps, vinegar eel, infusoria-rotting of lettuce produced single cell animal, crushed fish food)

Change 20% water 4 to 5 times a day. DO NOT CHANGE TOO MUCH OF WATER.

That’s the process.
Due to my thin knowledge, my baby fry did not survive this time.
And the male, it just got too tired and worn off and did not make it.
Feel like
It's the end of the world.on that day.

However, they are my guru. I learned a good lesson from them.

If u want them to survive, put on your full responsibility and reduce your LAZINESS and CARELESSNESS.
Check out ways to care for your animal.
That’s the key to survive. For them.

*Feel free to ask me anything about betta .
